Instant Horse Training Advice

If you have a passion to learn all you can about horse training, then you will want to know about a 100 year old horse training manual recently revived from a dusty old book shelf of a used book store. Taking the time to lay firm foundations will also mean that you will be training a horse that is willing to please, that is EASIER TO TRAIN IN THE LONG RUN, that is a joy to work with and not an obstinate animal that is always acting out. Eventually I will train the horse to stay calm and relaxed as I run at him from any angle, ride a motorized vehicle around him, run by him with flags, etc.
Eventually, you will be able to stare your horse in the face and run directly at him and the horse will stay calm and relaxed because they have thought about the situation and concluded that they are not going to die. A balky horse usually stands and looks back, as if it expected something to happen from the rear, and he is seldom disappointed, for the driver usually makes the air hot with a volley of words and the hissing of the whip. You must create an environment wherein the horse can learn on its own, aside from the horse training that you give it.
Balking is a confused, inactive and almost insensible condition of the mind that happens when the horse is faced with two conflicting problems.
Special bridles can also be used to help train and dissuade a potential runaway, especially one that is not confirmed in the habit and has shown an inclination to run only once or twice.

Judges Rule With Political Agenda

On July 6 there was an article on the Washington Times website about a ruling given by a federal appeals court panel in Cincinnati challenging the Bush Administrations claim to be able to conduct secret surveillance on individuals within the United States. The panel ruled in favor of the Bush side in a 2-1 ruling.

In explaining the ruling the article also pointed out who had appointed each judge to their position on the bench. There was one judge appointed by former President Clinton, one was appointed by George Bush Senior, and the third was appointed by the current President.

First of all it seems like the two Republicans should have recused themselves from the case. Especially the one appointed by the current administration. Needless to say, the two Republican appointees ruled in favor of the Bush Administration. The Democratic appointee ruled in favor of the Plaintiff.

I wonder how often this type of thing happens. People do not pay much attention to what happens in courts across the country until maybe some high profile case reaches the Supreme Court. But, we know one of the agendas of the Bush Administration has been to place what they call conservative judges on the bench where ever they can. Not much attention is given to these appointments. But, they will still be there when BushCo is long gone.

So how do you impeach a judge? My reading shows it is done the same way a President is impeached. A formal accusation and impeachment in the House of Representatives and then a trial in the Senate. So really it is up to the congress to take action which I guess is good and bad. The Congress does not just jump into things like this because I could see where this could get out of hand. Some quick glances at some reactionary/conservative blogs shows calls for impeachment of judges all over the place.

The grounds for impeachment are the usual "High Crimes and Misdemeanors" like bribery, perjury, and treason which are obvious. But really "High Crimes and
Misdemeanors" is not very specific. Abuse of power and serious misconduct are impeachable offenses but just disagreeing for political reasons is not. Once again, the blogs mentioned above seem to consider impeachable offenses to include a difference over ones world view in general.

I guess I thought at one time that when a person became a judge the politics were left behind and we got rulings based on the law. I probably was just naive to think this was the case. The judges are still people. It just seems that in recent years the polarization of our society has overrun just about everything.

The Difference Between Motorcycles And ATVs

It's alarming how many people don't know how dangerous it can be to ride an ATV. People still routinely take off without a helmet, without proper training, riding 2 or 3 up on a 1 up quad, riding a quad that's too big, riding on pavement, or any combination of them.

You usually don't see that lack of reverence on motorcycles. Sure, there are those that will always ride without a helmet, but for the most part, motocross riders are always wearing full gear because they know how dangerous it can be.

So why don't people have that same respect for ATVs? I think I found one of the main reasons people don't respect ATVs...

What makes people think they can just hop on an ATV and zoom off without fear of crashing? Why is it that they don't think twice about falling off and smashing their face?

So I was sitting here with a glass of drink to quench my thirst, putting the finishing touches on an ATV web site I'm building to try to win a competition for a job with a really big news company, when something crossed my mind....

No, no... something besides the normal distractions of screaming kids, a chewing dog and a beta fish named Sampson sitting on the counter. Why on God's green Earth would a parent let their kid hop on an ATV and think everything is going to be fine, even though

Based on a report that wearing proper safety gear will likely help keep you from being another statistic when riding ATVs, really? (Sorry). If you've been here before, you already know that. I preach about that all the time, especially with kids.

Lincoln County emergency management director Susan Spake said the biggest factor in any ATV wreck is the rider not having safety gear including the wearing of helmets. "Emergency services responds to between 30 and 75 calls per year regarding accidents," said Spake. "Most of the calls are in rural areas of the county."

It also says that there are many calls to police for people riding their ATVs in places they're not supposed to be riding. While I hate the rash of closures in the last decades, that's no excuse for breaking the law.

If it pisses you off that bad, which I hope it does, then do something about it legally, like contacting your representatives ever day, week or what ever.

Why Is It SO Hard To Get Published

Every writer at one time or another has asked this question. They know their work is good, they have paid their dues when it comes to market needs, research, and career preparation, they've read some of the inferior work that has made it into print and they eventually founder in the injustice and statistical difficulty of breaking in to print.

One thing is certain. Not all markets are equal. And once a writer breaks in to one genre or area of expertise it is easier to triumph in the next. The first thing I learned when I started studying for this career was, "Write what you know." That surprised me. I thought I could just put on any old hat, assume a dialect or persona and let my imagination fly.

That is simply not how it is done. If I put on a virtual football helmet and swagger into a literary locker room, I am not going to get it right. And every reader who has ever been there in real life will spot me as a fraud by the second paragraph. I have to concentrate on those areas of life where I do have expertise. And there are several. I'm a mother. A grandmother. A decent (sometimes inventive,) chef. I've built a telescope, run several ministry teams and I once wrote letters to every city in my Atlas offering to pray for people's needs. I ran for public office and won. Twice. I've organized and run a huge writer's conference for six years. I once survived a pulmonary embolism. There's lots more but these are sufficient to make my point.

Write what you know. Make a list of all the subjects and areas of interest where you have true knowledge and something of value to impart. Next, look for publications that cater to that topic. I can knit and crochet. Not only that I am compulsive about adapting and changing patterns. So I could write articles for magazines written for crafters. I can interview people who have made it to the top of those fields. Articles like that sell well.

Once I break in to small trade publications and special interest markets, I can use those sales in my publishing resume.

Those people who think the only places to break in are with novels or with articles in Reader's Digest, Redbook or the New Yorker will soon be experts in how not to break into print.

Study markets, ferret out those small publishers looking for great writing and stay close to your areas of expertise. Before long you will find your work in high demand.

Quit Smoking Hypnosis - Using Hypnosis To Help You Quit Smoking

Hypnosis is one of the most amazing forms of human psyche changing devices available. Allowing you mind to go into a state of hypnosis allows our subconscious to make changes to our habitual responses that are otherwise are to change in the conscious mind.

Why It's Important To Quit Smoking

Our lungs are one of the most important organs in the body as they allow our body to soak up oxygen to power the rest of our body. Without oxygen, our bodies don't have the capacity to function. Every other organ in our body will cease to continue functioning without it therefore it's important to make sure we look after our lungs.

Cigarette smoke forces unwanted chemicals into our lungs, which block oxygen from entering into our bloodstream. Permanent damage from smoking cigarettes can also occur due to the high concentration level of tar which binds to the lungs and inevitably results in lung cancer, later in life.

It's not uncommon to see a middle age smoker contract lung cancer and die shortly after. Most of the time this form of cancer is untreatable, making it one of the most deadly forms of cancer contractible by humans.

Curing Your Smoking Habit With Hypnosis

Hypnosis has the unfathomable ability to take a person into a subconscious state. One of the amazing things about the subconscious is that it has the ability to direct the way we live. When we sleep, we dream and it is during those dreams that the subconscious is hard at work storing memories from the previous day.

Habits are also created in the subconscious. When we do something enough, our subconscious begins to create an automatic habitual response that is echoed into the conscious mind. Therefore if we are able to create a habit using our subconscious, we're sure to be able to remove it also.

That's where hypnosis comes into play. Going into a hypnotic state allows the hypnotist to directly influence the subconscious, therefore speeding up the process of removing any unwanted habitual responses.

Once the habit is broken, which may take several sessions to achieve, the hypnotist is then able to create a new habit in the place of the old one. This is the key as without creating a new habit to counter for the old one, we would surely recreate the old one within in a short amount of time.

Many people all around the world are having incredible success using hypnosis to quit smoking. It is 100% successful all the time? No of course not, but it does inevitably help you move in the right direction towards a life free from cigarettes.
